Did you ever have a job that you thought you loved? I must have had the perfect job! Not. I was a one woman office and it was great. I earned a good salary and had to commute back and forth to the workplace, leaving my grand children that I’m raising in back home while working an hours drive away. I also thought I had the perfect title.. “Assistant Area Supervisor”. The title itself sounded so impressive to me. Well I thought about that title and got to thinking. Area, meaning in my job that I was also suppose to travel to some of our other offices. Well that never happen and, there was noe one but me to supervise. Impressive, HUH? So in Reality I was a nobody with a going nowhere job.

As for my boss, well he was just down right rude. My boss would go out of his way to take his anger out on me. He would come and yell and curse at me. Even go as far as to slam his fist on my desk and proceed to tell me that I need to get whatever he was about fixed or done.

I finally stood up to him one day. That’s when I realized my job was soon coming to an end. Four months later I was fired. I got layed off from that job after 7 years of hard work. Seems I was trapped in the JOB, and all alone.

My life changed after I received a post card in the mail. I called the number on that postcard. Needless to say Ameriplan found me. I also found a new best friend as a bonus.

“Do I have to know and recruit a lot of people to be successful in MLM?” is a commonly asked question.

A common response you might hear from upline sponsors is…

“No, if you sponsor just one person every month or two, you can become very successful in MLM, and develop a significant residual income.

They go on to say that the people you sponsor do not have to be from the group of people you already know (commonly called your warn market).  They tell you to think about how many people you bump into in your everyday activities!

Try this: sit down with a pen and a sheet of paper and create a list of the names of EVERYONE you know, have known, have done business with, etc.  You will be amazed by the number of people you come up with.

But the question is, will all these people really join your MLM business if you ask them to?  Most probably not.  However, statistics show that if only one out of every one hundred contacts you make joins your program under you, it will be enough to make your car payment, another one will make your house payment, and one more will retire you!

Three out of every one hundred people you contact is certainly achievable but you have to actually go out and contact the one hundred people.  Some of them might not be interested themselves, but they mayknow someone who will be and they refer that person to you.  This referral process expands your list.

However, there is one flaw in this whole process and that is that you have to be willing to be rejected by 97 people.  That is a lot of rejection and most people will not last that long.  And initially these are people you at least know, so the rejection is even harder to accept.

How many masochist do you know who are willing to knowingly go out and face one hundred people and get turned down by ninety seven of them and just keep on going trying to sell or recruit to an unwilling market?

Technically, the response above from the upline sponsor can be true if you are lucky enough to recruit someone that has all the requisite skills and goes on to become a “heavy hitter” in the company.  And depending upon your company’s compensation plan, that person might be able to carry you along.

It is extremely unlikely that you will be able to find a “heavy hitter” who can quickly go out and develop a large downline under you if you are only signing up “one person every month or two.”

So what are your alternatives if you can’t sign up a “heavy hitter” early in you Multi Level Marketing sponsoring efforts and you don’t enjoy the thought of facing rejection from 97 out of every one hundred people you contact?

The trick is not to go out pursuing people attempting to get them to purchase your products or enroll in your business.  That will surely get you membership in the NFL (No Friends Left) club.  Instead, convince the ones that are really interested to come to you.  And then, sponsor them into your company with a soft sell approach instead of the more tradition hard sell.

“So, how do I accomplish that?”, you ask.

You accomplish this by first offering your target market a funded proposal or free report relevant to your market and developing a mailing or contact list from the funded proposal sales process.  You then develop a positive relationship with your list members through frequent contact and by providing them useful information.

If your market has been correctly identified, you will soon find that prospects will call you seeking guidance and asking how to become a member of your program.

Signing up for an MLM Opportunity can be exciting. The mind swirls with the idea of a large residual income and the ability to do as you please. Once this initial fantasy subsides you have some very important matters to consider.
